Legal Counsel Spain

At Goodman, we're seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain. As a key member of our legal team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks related to real estate development and operations, including infrastructure, power connection, and renewable energy projects.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage agreements and legal documents related to data centre and light industrial/logistics projects.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company, and provide proactive advice on potential legal risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards, and values.
  • Train and educate the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters, and foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance.
  • Manage external law firms effectively and ensure timely and cost-efficient resolution of legal disputes and/or litigation.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in law from a Spanish university.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, construction law, and energy law, with a strong interest in regulatory changes triggered by sustainability.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or a similar role in a company or law firm, with a minimum of 5 years in construction law for major infrastructure projects and/or data centres.
