About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain, based in our Madrid or Barcelona office. As a Legal Counsel for Spain, you will play a critical role in proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks related to real estate development and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage agreements and other legal documents in relation to data centre and light industrial/logistics projects, including energy, power, and grid connection, RIBA, and EPC agreements.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company, and proactively advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards, and values, and train and educate the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters.
  • Work closely with the European legal team, the Spanish business team, and the wider European team to ensure effective coordination and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in law from a Spanish university, with additional degree or LLM considered a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, construction law, and energy law, with a strong interest in regulatory changes triggered by sustainability.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or a similar role in a company or law firm, with a minimum of 5 years in construction law for major infrastructure projects and/or data centers.
