Legal Counsel for Spain

Are you a seasoned legal professional looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain, based in Madrid or Barcelona.

About the Role

As a Legal Counsel for Spain, you will play a critical role in proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks related to our real estate development and operations, including data centre and light industrial/logistics projects. Your expertise in construction law, energy law, and contract law will be essential in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and other legal documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and other legal documents related to data centre and light industrial/logistics projects
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company
  • Proactively advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards, and values
  • Train and educate the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters
  • Manage external law firms and coordinate legal disputes and/or litigation
Requirements

We're looking for a highly qualified individual with a Master's degree in law from a Spanish university and at least 8 years of experience as a legal counsel or a similar role. Your expertise in construction law, energy law, and contract law is essential, and experience with drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts related to energy, power, and grid connection is a plus.
