Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Oldcastle. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective health and safety programs and policies to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor and assess health and safety risks and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to identify and mitigate potential hazards and develop corrective action plans.
  • Provide training and education to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety records and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective health and safety programs and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
