Senior Project Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Oldcastle Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively support preventative injury initiatives, focusing on Serious Injury or Fatality (SIF) prevention.
- Provide leadership, coaching, teaching, and mentoring to employees to promote a culture of safety.
- Coordinate the Health and Safety Management System to meet company day-to-day safety policies and delivery of training activities for employees.
- Coordinate communications of occupational hazards and risks to both managers and the workforce.
- Assist with the design of standards, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
