About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Discipline Engineer - Calculation Expert to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing calculation discipline activities and delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform finite element analysis using Hyperworks software and other relevant tools.
  • Analyze calculated deformations, stresses, and vibration modes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement design improvements for calculated parts.
  • Define gauge positions for strain gauge tests and prepare documentation.
  • Prepare and document calculation discipline reports and notes, ensuring compliance with project schedules and QCD commitments.
  • Perform correlation analysis with test results and prepare documentation.
  • Prepare and document mechanical domain design reviews.
  • Update calculation notes to reflect change requests and ensure compliance with QCD commitments.
  • Manage calculation discipline FEA engineers on projects and perform quotation of engineering workpackages as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finite element analysis and calculation discipline activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with customers.
  • Strong time management and reporting skills, with a sense of urgency and priority.
  • Structured and organized approach, with hands-on experience in finite element analysis and calculation discipline activities.
  • English language proficiency in reading, writing, and technical meetings.
  • Experience with Altair Hyperworks software, including Hypermesh, Hyperview, and Hypergraph.
  • Knowledge of solver OptiStruct and experience with finite element analysis.
