Operations Manager Job Description

A strategic and people leader of a large team, the Operations Manager at Amazon is empowered with complete operations responsibility for Outbound/FCD/Changeops or IB. She/he creates building-level cost efficiencies at a Six Sigma level of deliverables, coupled with driving regional/national level key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers, TL's as direct reportees supported by PAs and Associates in Outbound Operations.
  • Responsible for the overall Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery performance of Outbound Operations.
  • Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
  • Review the work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to produce/deliver during the day to meet the overall building objectives.
  • Ensure building health and inventory metrics with best-in-class quality metrics.
  • Interface well with other OMs and take up cross-functionally the adoption of best practices.
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Learn and understand the system interventions for order processing. Apprise teams down the line of new process implementation and control measures required.
  • Lead ART (Annual Sale) events from a capacity planning perspective and prepare manpower, material, and machine in its perspectives.
  • Carry out machine (resources) planning periodically and remove/reduce capacity constraints if any in coordination with Resource planning and Finance teams.
  • Ensure best practices in people management and accountable for FC's compliance, connections, and scorecards.
  • Manage people and team development.
  • Understand flex levers, take up new Amazon technicalities associated with the role's requirements and Amazon ERP systems.
  • Create leaders and talent pipeline with good stakeholder management and project management skills.
  • Do cross-functional and cross-mile interfacing and take up for the best practices and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
