Power Generation Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Power Generation Field Service Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Zaragoza, Spain. This role is part of our Distribution Business Segment.

  • We offer a permanent contract with a hybrid work model.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Travel is expected to be around 25% of the time, mainly within Spain.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will make a significant impact by:

  • Efficiently diagnosing and repairing generators and components to minimize downtime for customers.
  • Building strong relationships with customers through courteous and professional interactions.
  • Anticipating and addressing customer needs promptly to demonstrate a commitment to excellent service.
  • Utilizing specialized tools and procedures to diagnose and repair issues, showcasing technical expertise.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance activities to prevent future issues and ensure the reliability and longevity of power generation products.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors to maintain service quality.
  • Accurately documenting necessary information to support warranty claims, quality control, and service records.
  • Adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proactive and customer-oriented approach to identify and address customer needs.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans.
  • A thorough understanding of power generation systems and adherence to safety standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to handle complex situations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An apprentice certification in Power Generation/Mechanical Technician (preferred).
  • A vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
  • Current relevant mechanical certification.
  • A locally valid driving permit.
  • A medium level of English proficiency.
  • Medium level field service work experience, preferably in the industrial field, generating sets, or diesel mechanics.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
  • Availability to cover emergency service.
