Your work will involve collaborating with large databases such as EGA, db Ga P, and ad-hoc consortia.
About the European Genome-Phenome ArchiveThe EGA is a secure archiving and sharing resource for human genomics data, hosting over 16 petabytes of data from more than 3700 studies and 8600 datasets. Our team at CRG works closely with the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) to establish international standards in genomics and data security.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze GWAS data using computational tools and bioinformatics pipelines
- Identify sex-differential effects, heritabilities, and pleiotropies across various human diseases and traits
- Collaborate with researchers to design and implement study protocols
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience working with large genomic datasets and bioinformatics tools
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Perl
- Familiarity with statistical tools and software like PLINK, GCTA, or similar
- Knowledge of working with large-scale genomic databases like EGA, db Ga P, or similar repositories
- Ability to manage and process large datasets using bioinformatics pipelines
We offer a competitive salary of €40,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
