Market Access and Health Economics Manager Role
As a key member of the Edwards Lifesciences team, you will play a crucial role in enabling and improving market access for innovative therapeutic solutions for structural heart disease and advanced critical care technologies. This position requires a strategic partner who can work seamlessly with local Government, Healthcare Institutes, Hospitals, Patients, and Business Units to simplify decision-making in the hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pro-actively lead and work with Business Units on Market Access Projects, including creating new therapeutic/device charge codes, obtaining pricing approval, and obtaining reimbursement approval.
- Provide direction and guidance to external project teams to execute tactical market access projects and/or initiatives.
- Participate on internal product launch teams.
- Develop and plan market access projects and activities with accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables.
- Actively participate in industry groups to maintain dialogue with provincial government and influence policy formulation and implementation whenever appropriate.
- Build and maintain good relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and Healthcare-related authorities.
- Develop local market access opportunities in collaboration with the sales team.
- Identify and evaluate market access process improvement and/or course correction/alignment opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, 4-10 years of previous related experience required; or Master's Degree or equivalent in a related field, 8 years of previous related experience required.
- Experience in government relations, sales, tendering or pricing, reimbursement function, regulatory in multinational pharmaceutical or medical device companies required. Pricing & reimbursement experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to work in a remote team environment.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, problem solver with strong ownership and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work in a matrix environment and to work with governmental officials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required; ability to speak local language(s) preferred.
- Proven successful project management skills.
- Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint systems.
- Recognized as an expert in government policies with specialized depth within the organization.
- Expert understanding of related aspects of pricing & reimbursement processes.
- Expert understanding of the healthcare industry.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Represents leadership on projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Consult in project setting within Market Access.
