Job Title: Senior Technician

Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)- BarcelonaTECH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join their team in the Systems Engineering, Automation and Industrial Computing department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out numerical simulations of micro-xarxa within the ACROBA project, developing experiments into micro-xarxa prototypes, managing project purchases, designing and developing control systems for microsystem components, and creating a website for the ACROBA project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out numerical simulations of micro-xarxa within the ACROBA project
  • Develop experiments into micro-xarxa prototypes within the ACROBA project
  • Manage project purchases
  • Design and develop control systems for microsystem components within the ACROBA project
  • Create a website for the ACROBA project
Requirements:
  • Modeling and design of control systems
  • Advanced control system development
  • Plant supervision and control
  • Spoken, read and written Catalan, Spanish and English
Desirable Skills:

  • Communication skills
Work Experience:

Experience in process control and functions similar to those described, particularly in the development of research activities, both in academic and industrial environments, will be valued.

Salary:

37.001,56€/per year (full-time)

Eligibility Criteria:

All the candidates who cannot prove the required academic degree will be immediately withdrawn from the selection process.

The CVs will be assessed according to the following general criteria:

  • Maximum score for the candidates who accomplish all the eligibility criteria stated in the job offer: 10 points
  • Threshold: 5 points

The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows:

  • 1 point for required speciality
  • 2 points for required academic training
  • 2 points for technical competences
  • 1 point for organisational competences
  • 3 points for professional experience
  • 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile to be determined as specially relevant by the Selection committee

If the selection committee decides to include a personal interview as an additional step of the selection process, only the candidates scored 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview step.

The interview will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  • Threshold: 3 points
  • Maximum score will be distributed according to the following criteria:
  • 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job
  • 2 points for adequacy of professional experience
