Construction Vendor Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Vendor Manager to join our team at Engineeringuk. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing our relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring that we receive the best possible value for our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain vendor strategies to ensure optimal performance and value
- Analyze vendor data to identify areas for improvement and develop metrics to measure performance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement vendor management processes
- Manage vendor claims and escalations, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing disruptions to projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers, ensuring strong partnerships and collaborative working
- Support the procurement team in sourcing and evaluating vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- University degree in civil engineering or architecture
- Proven project management experience in construction and/or contracts management
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and develop metrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% across projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cross-functional experience in procurement, planning, cost control, contracts, or project management
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, macros, database work, and QuickSight or representation software
- Experience in contract management (FIDIC, NEC, JTC, etc.) and drafting of contracts or legal letters
- Past experience in technical/management roles on construction sites
