Job SummaryThe Technical Vendor Manager is responsible for overseeing the critical path schedule of Consultants, General Contractors (GC) and supply chain, with the objective of identifying, securing, and maximizing value from our vendors in D&C projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the GC & Consultant Vendor Strategy in collaboration with the Procurement Team;
- Design and implement KPIs to assess vendor performance;
- Analyze vendor data to gain comprehensive insights and evaluate key metrics and KPIs against organizational targets for informed decision making;
- Establish a method to collect and synchronize feedback on Developer, GCs, Consultants, and supply chain vendors by monitoring performance throughout the project lifecycle;
- Support the Pre-construction Manager and Procurement during the tendering process;
- Manage external vendors and support internal teams to ensure the delivery of CAPEX projects safely, on time, and on cost;
- Manage vendors' claims and escalations, delve into technical details, and lead problem resolution covering Amazon's interests, driving process improvements and lessons learned, maintaining a productive relationship between the organization and the vendors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong level of ownership, a bias for action, and be a highly motivated individual with Project/Contracts Management experience within the construction industry.
The role requires a deep understanding of Amazon's buildings and the ability to work closely with consultants, General Contractors, and internal stakeholders such as Procurement, Pre-construction, and Construction.
The successful candidate will be a passionate self-starter, decisive, and able to move with speed to implement ideas, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The role involves analyzing vendor metrics and comparing them against defined targeted KPIs, requiring a high level of analytical skills.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the construction industry and a track record of delivering results in fast-paced and dynamic business environments while managing the sometimes conflicting needs of different groups of stakeholders.
The role will be based in London (UK) with 25% of time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries.
