Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Senior Specialist to join our Operations Department at QIAGEN Barcelona. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs and policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
  • Provide training to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess workplace hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Stay informed of changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize occupational health risks.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnological Industry.
  • Experience in EHS is required (3-5 years).
  • Experience in PCR and biosafety is desired.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is required. Fluent in Catalan is highly valuable.
