About the Position

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled Researcher to join its team in the area of Adaptive Mesh Refinement Techniques Exploiting Deep Reinforcement Learning (R3) - AI4S. This position is part of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) team, which focuses on developing numerical tools, turbulence models, multi-physics algorithms, data-driven methodologies, and large-scale industrial simulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in GPU activities carried out by BSC in the CFD team
  • Interact with collaborators for collaborative research
  • Research on GPU porting of dynamic adaptive mesh refinement techniques of CFD codes
  • Contribute to scientific paper publications
  • Research on ML integration for CFD codes for mesh adaptive refinement
  • Lead the meshing activities in the CFD group
Requirements
  • PhD in HPC methods for CFD or mesh generation
  • Experience developing in-house CFD codes
  • Experience using large-scale HPC facilities
  • Experience in GPU accelerators
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Proficiency in Spanish and other European languages would be advantageous
  • Adequate physical and mathematical knowledge in the aeronautical field
  • Previous experience in European research projects and industrial projects will be considered
