Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

Role Summary:

The Marketing Specialist for Iberia plays a crucial role in executing the marketing strategy by implementing various marketing initiatives, evaluating their effectiveness, and ensuring successful outreach to clients in alignment with Vertex's objectives in Spain. This position is integral to the formulation and execution of the annual brand strategy for the Hematology sector, aimed at fulfilling business goals. Furthermore, the role collaborates closely with the International Analytics and Commercial Operations team (GIACO) to craft and execute a comprehensive omnichannel marketing strategy for the Iberian market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the review and approval workflow for both new and existing marketing materials, coordinating with various teams including regulatory, medical, marketing, legal, and external agencies.
  • Creates and revises marketing materials tailored to customers, ensuring alignment with the overall marketing strategy and business objectives, which may include branded websites, interactive visual aids, and sales brochures.
  • Enhances customer engagement and promotional efforts by managing the upload of marketing materials to the CRM platform, overseeing speaker programs, and coordinating conference-related activities.
  • Oversees digital marketing platforms, managing timelines and deliverables in collaboration with country and international marketing teams, IT departments, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Contributes to the overarching omnichannel strategy and develops customer journey personas.
  • Assists in the implementation and management of digital platforms.
  • Collaborates with the analytics team to assess the performance of digital and print materials, using metrics for future improvements.
  • Manages relationships with agency partners to ensure budget compliance and timely project delivery.
  • Works alongside colleagues and advertising agencies to develop marketing tactics that support the annual brand strategy.
  • Engages in generating key marketing insights in partnership with the GIACO team.
  • Monitors marketing activities, including budget tracking.
  • Oversees contracting processes and initiates purchase orders as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the target market.
  • Comprehension of brand strategy elements and the role in executing that strategy.
  • Ability to interpret insights and apply them to marketing tactics and business opportunities.
  • Results-driven with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Experience working with external business partners and vendors.
  • Prior experience in developing an omnichannel marketing strategy.
  • Familiarity with the legal and regulatory landscape, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector in Spain, with additional knowledge of the Portuguese market being advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing digital projects.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of the specialty pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.
  • Experience in a marketing agency setting is beneficial.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, business, scientific discipline, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required.
