Role Summary:

The Marketing Specialist for Iberia plays a crucial role in executing the marketing strategy by implementing various marketing initiatives, assessing their effectiveness, and ensuring optimal communication with clients to support Vertex's operations in Spain. This position is integral to the formulation and execution of the annual brand strategy within the Hematology sector to meet organizational goals. Furthermore, the role collaborates closely with the International Analytics and Commercial Operations team (GIACO) to create and implement a comprehensive omnichannel marketing strategy for the Iberian market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the review and approval workflow for both new and existing marketing materials, coordinating with various teams including regulatory, medical, marketing, legal, and external agencies.
  • Creates and revises marketing materials that align with the overarching marketing strategy and business objectives, including branded websites, interactive visual aids, and sales brochures.
  • Enhances customer engagement and promotional efforts by ensuring marketing content is uploaded to the CRM system, managing speaker programs, and organizing conference-related activities.
  • Oversees digital marketing platforms, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met in collaboration with local and international marketing teams, IT, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the overall omnichannel marketing strategy and develops customer journey personas.
  • Assists in the implementation and operational management of digital platforms.
  • Collaborates with the analytics team to evaluate the performance of digital and print materials, informing future updates across the brand.
  • Manages relationships with agency partners to ensure budget compliance and timely project delivery.
  • Works alongside colleagues and advertising agencies to develop marketing tactics that support the annual brand strategy.
  • Participates in generating key marketing insights in partnership with the GIACO team.
  • Monitors marketing activities, including budget tracking.
  • Handles contracting processes and initiates purchase orders as necessary.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the target market dynamics.
  • Comprehension of brand strategy elements and the role in executing that strategy.
  • Ability to derive insights and apply them to marketing tactics and business opportunities.
  • Results-driven with excellent communication and collaboration skills to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Experience working with external business partners and vendors.
  • Prior experience in developing an omnichannel marketing strategy.
  • Familiarity with the legal and regulatory landscape, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector in Spain, with additional knowledge of the Portuguese market being advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing digital projects.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the specialty pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.
  • Experience in a marketing agency setting is beneficial.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, business, a scientific discipline, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required.
