Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to assist our Head Sommelier in providing exceptional wine and beverage service to our guests. As a Sommelier Assistant Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting with wine service, maintaining a thorough knowledge of our wine list, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Sommelier in providing exceptional wine and beverage service to guests.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our wine list, including wine regions, grape varieties, and pairing recommendations.
  • Assist with wine service, including pouring wine, opening bottles, and serving wine flights.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized wine cellar, including inventory management and wine storage.
  • Participate in wine tastings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest wine trends and developments.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant team to ensure seamless service and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Sommelier or restaurant manager.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a wine service or hospitality role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wine and beverage service, including wine regions, grape varieties, and pairing recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with ease.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
