Job Title: Science Operations System Engineer

Join the European Space Agency - ESA as a Science Operations System Engineer and contribute to the success of our space missions. As a key member of our Science Operations Department, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and testing the science ground segment system for our missions.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to support the development and operations of our science ground segment systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing the science ground segment system for our missions
  • Developing and maintaining the system engineering processes for our science operations centres
  • Defining and formalising the required interfaces with instrument teams and mission operations centres
  • Leading the system design and requirement definition for our science operations centres
  • Coordinating the science ground segment test campaigns and monitoring the contributions from instrument teams

You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that is passionate about space science and operations. Our team is responsible for the development and operations of our science ground segment systems, and we are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm and commitment to excellence.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in software systems engineering, preferably for science operations
  • Experience in development, operations, and maintenance of ground infrastructure and/or software systems, preferably for science operations
  • Experience in space missions' operations
  • Experience in R&D projects
