Join Our Team as a Technical Writer

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team at Semrush. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality documentation that helps our developers and users understand our products.

About the Role
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for our software products, including API references and integration tutorials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Improve information architecture and make documentation easier to find.
  • Take ownership of projects related to Knowledge Sharing and Management.
  • Write documentation from scratch, as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience writing technical documentation for software developers.
  • Deep understanding of technical documentation types and how to create structured and connected web of docs.
  • Extensive experience with docs-as-code (command line, Git, Markdown/reStructuredText).
  • Experience working with static site generators such as MkDocs.
  • Fluency in English (near-native or native) and ability to adjust writing style for different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with documentation linters such as Vale.
  • Ability to read and understand JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how docs fit into the software development lifecycle.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure basics.
  • Experience creating infographics, diagrams, or other media for docs.
  • Experience with web accessibility.
  • Familiarity with documentation analytics and related tools.
