Customer Payments Specialist
Ebury's Operations Team - 4 days in the office & 1 day working from home
Department: Operations - Customer Payments

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Verify and process client payments in accordance with internal procedures and service level agreements.
  2. Complete and verify payment beneficiary information in line with internal guidelines.
  3. Focus on completing allocated tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
  4. Communicate task status to colleagues, supervisors, and managers, and escalate issues promptly as needed.
  5. Manage payment issues and queries related to SWIFT and domestic payments, including processing SWIFT query messages (MT, MT, MT / 6, and MT), in line with internal procedures and SLAs.
  6. Investigate non-received, short, or returned payments, and process or escalate as required, in accordance with internal procedures.
  7. Process payment returns and rejections in line with internal procedures.
  8. Verify the status of payments in third-party banking and payment platforms, including SWIFT GPI.
  9. Reconcile client funds and outbound payments sent and received across Ebury's network of bank accounts, across all back-office systems, in accordance with internal procedures.
  10. Investigate unallocated and / or non-received funds, and reject or escalate as required.
  11. Fund client trades where manual funding is required.
  12. Verify remitter bank account data.
  13. Assign currency accounts to clients as requested, and in accordance with internal guidelines.
Requirements:
  1. Strong understanding of different payment clearing schemes in the jurisdictions where Ebury operates.
  2. At least 1+ years of relevant experience in Fintech / International Payments or similar.
  3. Good knowledge of SWIFT in a cross-border payments context, including MT message types.
  4. Basic understanding of FX products offered by Ebury, including spot, fixed forward, window forward, and non-deliverable forward.
  5. Proactive, with the ability to work within strict time-frames and under pressure.
  6. Diligent, with good attention to detail.
  7. Effective research skills with the ability to find solutions independently.
  8. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Co-operative and comfortable working in a team environment.
  10. Curious and eager to learn, and actively asks questions to confirm understanding of processes and procedures.
  11. Motivated, with a desire to contribute to Ebury's success.
