Customer Payments Specialist
Ebury's Operations Team - 4 days in the office & 1 day working from home
Department: Operations - Customer Payments
- Verify and process client payments in accordance with internal procedures and service level agreements.
- Complete and verify payment beneficiary information in line with internal guidelines.
- Focus on completing allocated tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
- Communicate task status to colleagues, supervisors, and managers, and escalate issues promptly as needed.
- Manage payment issues and queries related to SWIFT and domestic payments, including processing SWIFT query messages (MT, MT, MT / 6, and MT), in line with internal procedures and SLAs.
- Investigate non-received, short, or returned payments, and process or escalate as required, in accordance with internal procedures.
- Process payment returns and rejections in line with internal procedures.
- Verify the status of payments in third-party banking and payment platforms, including SWIFT GPI.
- Reconcile client funds and outbound payments sent and received across Ebury's network of bank accounts, across all back-office systems, in accordance with internal procedures.
- Investigate unallocated and / or non-received funds, and reject or escalate as required.
- Fund client trades where manual funding is required.
- Verify remitter bank account data.
- Assign currency accounts to clients as requested, and in accordance with internal guidelines.
- Strong understanding of different payment clearing schemes in the jurisdictions where Ebury operates.
- At least 1+ years of relevant experience in Fintech / International Payments or similar.
- Good knowledge of SWIFT in a cross-border payments context, including MT message types.
- Basic understanding of FX products offered by Ebury, including spot, fixed forward, window forward, and non-deliverable forward.
- Proactive, with the ability to work within strict time-frames and under pressure.
- Diligent, with good attention to detail.
- Effective research skills with the ability to find solutions independently.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Co-operative and comfortable working in a team environment.
- Curious and eager to learn, and actively asks questions to confirm understanding of processes and procedures.
- Motivated, with a desire to contribute to Ebury's success.
