Procurement Specialist for Facility Services

We are currently seeking a German-speaking professional to join our Global Sourcing team. This role involves the development and execution of sourcing strategies for the categories of Facility Services and Utilities, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the supply market, supplier sourcing, risk management, and performance evaluation to meet Kennametal's objectives regarding Delivery, Quality, and Cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee key performance metrics, ensuring adherence to ethical standards, total cost reduction, and strategic sourcing initiatives aimed at identifying improvements.
- Manage the procurement strategy for Facility Services and Utilities, focusing on supplier performance, relationship management, and total cost execution.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to cultivate strong partnerships that align with procurement goals, emphasizing cost optimization and compliance.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers in accordance with the commodity strategy, overseeing the supplier selection and segmentation processes.
- Conduct market analysis to stay informed about potential developments within the assigned commodity, including emerging players and technologies.
- Utilize market data to create pricing and service models that enhance strategic decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional projects, negotiate contracts, and continuously seek innovative methods to optimize procurement costs.
- Monitor the overall performance of the commodity and implement improvement actions as necessary.
- Facilitate annual Business Review Meetings with key suppliers.
- Support operations in accordance with the escalation process, acting as a liaison between manufacturing sites and the sourcing organization.
- Partner with the Global Sourcing Functional Excellence Team to ensure best practices and tools are effectively implemented across the region.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in strategic procurement or category management, specifically in Facility Services and Utilities.
- Proficient in English and German; additional languages are advantageous.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
- Strong negotiation skills, goal-oriented mindset, and proactive approach.
- Business acumen with the ability to prioritize and establish strategic direction.
- Capability to understand internal processes and align with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Skilled in data management and analytics for informed decision-making.
- Project management expertise to deliver value-added solutions within defined parameters.
- Financial analysis skills to assess cost-saving opportunities and understand financial impacts.
