About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Manager to lead our EU AMZL Central Operations team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for driving performance and ensuring standard processes are followed for all daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Daily Operations: Manage the daily operations of the team, ensuring all required tasks are executed on time and adhering to standard practices.
  2. Monitor and Report Performance: Monitor and report on daily and weekly performances, identifying trends and gaps in performance metrics and taking corrective actions.
  3. Implement Best Practices: Execute best practices that improve customer, cost, and delivery partner outcomes.
  4. Develop Processes and Systems: Develop processes and systems to achieve metrics, often requiring scrappy solutions to temporarily overcome technical limitations.
  5. Create Scalable Standard Work: Create and drive scalable standard work that enables remote support of a complex business area.
  6. Lead Process Improvement Initiatives: Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives through quantitative analysis and data-driven decision making.
  7. Manage Recognition and Communication Programs: Create, manage, support recognition and communication programs for the Risk and Flow team.
Requirements
  1. Knowledge and Experience: Has knowledge and experience in direct-to-customer fulfillment operations, as well as excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  2. Project Management: Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, designing process solutions.
  3. Forward Thinking: A forward thinker, with an ability to manage high levels of ambiguity and thrive on change.
  4. Qualifications: Qualifications in Engineering, Operations, or related fields.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively and build partnership relationships.
  6. Performance Metrics and Process Improvement: Experience with performance metrics and process improvement, with demonstrable problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
  7. Adaptability: Ability to change and adapt as our business grows and you must adapt to changes in management.
  8. Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  9. Direct Management Experience: Direct management experience for employees and their performance.
  10. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  2. Management Experience: Management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
  3. Process Improvement Experience: Experience leading process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  4. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in English, including public speaking and writing.
  5. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of SQL / ETL and visualization tools like Tableau.
  6. Adaptability: An ability and interest to work in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment.
