Position Summary

We are in search of a talented and driven Senior Civil Engineering Specialist to become a vital member of our team, playing a key role in the successful design and execution of photovoltaic (PV) power plants within our extensive project portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in civil engineering, with a particular focus on renewable energy initiatives, especially solar energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create comprehensive civil engineering designs and plans for PV power plants, including site grading, structural foundations, and drainage solutions. Collaborate with other technical teams to validate and integrate essential studies such as topographical and geotechnical assessments into project engineering.
  • Bill of Materials Management: Establish and maintain an accurate Bill of Materials (BoM) for civil engineering components of PV projects, ensuring thoroughness and precision.
  • Technical Standards Evaluation: Assess the applicability of technical standards and justify any deviations to ensure project viability and economic efficiency.
  • Site Evaluation: Perform thorough site evaluations to determine the appropriateness of potential locations for PV equipment, taking into account topography, soil conditions, and environmental considerations.
  • External Coordination: Oversee and manage collaborations with external planning firms, including the qualification of civil engineering service providers, defining scopes of work, and ensuring their outputs meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Project Oversight: Direct civil engineering aspects of PV projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality execution.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in close partnership with system design engineers, electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Guarantee that all designs and construction activities comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Construction Assistance: Provide necessary support and guidance to on-site teams during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle, implementing solutions that enhance project performance and efficiency.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design calculations, reports, construction drawings, and project records.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in civil engineering, focusing on renewable energy projects, particularly solar power systems.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Exceptional project management abilities, with experience overseeing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in civil engineering and renewable energy.
  • Fluency in English (business level); proficiency in additional European languages such as German, Spanish, or Italian is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
