Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Civil Project Engineer to become a vital member of our team, contributing to the successful execution and development of photovoltaic power plant projects within our extensive global portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a robust civil engineering background, particularly in renewable energy initiatives, especially solar energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create comprehensive civil engineering designs and plans for photovoltaic power plants, including site grading, foundational structures, and drainage systems. Collaborate with other Technical Support Units to validate and integrate key studies (such as topographical and geotechnical assessments) into specific project engineering.
  • Bill of Materials (BoM) Management: Formulate and sustain an exhaustive Bill of Materials for civil engineering elements of photovoltaic projects, ensuring precision and thoroughness.
  • Technical Standards Evaluation: Assess the applicability of technical standards and justify any deviations to ensure the technical integrity and economic efficiency of projects.
  • Site Evaluation: Perform site evaluations to determine the appropriateness of potential locations for various photovoltaic equipment, taking into account topography, soil conditions, and environmental considerations.
  • External Coordination: Oversee and manage relationships with external planning agencies, including the qualification of civil engineering service providers, defining Scope of Works (SoW), and ensuring their outputs meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Project Oversight: Supervise civil engineering aspects of photovoltaic projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality execution.
  • Collaboration: Work in tandem with system design engineers, photovoltaic engineers, electrical engineers, project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all designs and construction activities adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Construction Assistance: Provide necessary support and guidance to on-site teams during the construction phase, ensuring all civil engineering tasks are executed according to design specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address any engineering challenges that arise throughout the project lifecycle, implementing solutions that enhance project performance and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain thorough documentation, including design calculations, reports, construction drawings, and project records.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly photovoltaic systems
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and standards
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design tools.
  • Excellent project management capabilities, with experience overseeing multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards related to civil engineering and renewable energy
  • Fluency in English (business proficiency), with working knowledge of other European languages such as German, Spanish, or Italian being an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary
