- Classroom Support:
- Assist the classroom teacher with day-to-day instructional activities, providing additional explanations, guidance, and encouragement to students.
- Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe, respectful learning environment.
- Individualized Student Support:
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts, especially in literacy and numeracy.
- Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
- Monitor and record students' progress, reporting any concerns to the classroom teacher.
- Preparation of Learning Materials:
- Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials and resources.
- Set up activities and learning centers as directed by the teacher.
- Help with the creation of visual aids, displays, and educational resources that enhance the learning environment.
- Supervision and Duties:
- Supervise students during break times, lunchtimes, and other non-instructional periods.
- Provide care and support to students, ensuring their well-being and safety.
- Assist with the organization and supervision of educational visits, excursions, and special events.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with the administration of classroom activities, such as attendance records, grading, and report preparation.
- Help maintain student files and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to enhance student learning and well-being.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Teaching Assistance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational role, especially in an international or bilingual school setting, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English.
