Location: Remote (with occasional travel to project sites)

Gamesa Electric Sa is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, and we are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer to design and develop high-power converters for our wind turbine applications. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power electronics, converter design, and simulation tools such as Matlab and/or Python, Simulink and/or PSIM and/or PLECS.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-power converters for wind turbine applications
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and design reports for main power components
  • Conduct thermal analysis of power converters and develop cooling concepts
  • Validate power components and ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product testing and certifications
  • Participate in converter validation and ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Adhere to quality processes through the execution of test procedures

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in power electronics converter design (preferably high power, i.e. > 100 kW)
  • Experience in analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving of power converters
  • Commissioning experience is also valuable
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Strong knowledge of Matlab and/or Python, Simulink and/or PSIM and/or PLECS
