About the Role

As a key member of the Almirall Hermal GmbH team, the Strategic Communications Director for Spain will play a crucial role in shaping the company's communications strategy in the Spanish market. Reporting to the Corporate Communications Executive Director, this role will be responsible for developing and executing a holistic communications plan that aligns with the business ambition and corporate communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for the Spanish market, focusing on external communications and coordinating local internal communications.
  • Deliver impactful communications that combine global/corporate comms strategy and content with unique approaches and materials tailored to the Spanish market needs.
  • Create high-quality content for local external communication, adapting global content and aligning with the corporate comms strategy.
  • Provide strategic support to the General Manager and country leadership team on high-impact communications activities.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Comms team to ensure a holistic approach to communicating with internal and external target audiences.
  • Manage media relations for non-corporate outlets in Spain, focusing on non-financial media and high-value outlets targeting the broad public and HCPs.
  • Lead agency engagement and resourcing to support the creation and execution of the market organisation's Comms strategy in Spain.
  • Manage budgets to deliver high-value/high-impact comms outcomes.
  • Build Comms capabilities and a Comms mindset across the market organisation in Spain.
Requirements
  • High energy, pro-active, and results-oriented strategic thinker.
  • Strong team player with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders inside and outside the company.
  • Very strong writing skills in Spanish, good written and spoken English.
  • Critical thinking and can-do attitude to pinpoint opportunities, get consensus, and action.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality results relevant to the business needs in the country.
  • Ability to operate efficiently under pressure.
  • Hands-on self-starter with a combination of analytical skills and business understanding.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, with a focus on strategic, external, and internal communications and media relations.
  • Significant experience working in the healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries (alternatively in other highly regulated industries).
  • Passion for healthcare and making a difference with patients.
  • Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and measuring communication strategies and programmes to support achieving business objectives.
Education
  • Academic degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or life sciences.
