About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications Director to join our team at Almirall Spain. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the company's business objectives and enhances its reputation in the Spanish market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan that aligns with the company's business objectives and enhances its reputation in the Spanish market.
  • Lead the development and execution of external and internal communications campaigns, including media relations, social media, and content creation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical affairs, and sales, to ensure a cohesive and integrated communications approach.
  • Monitor and track the impact and success of communications initiatives, using metrics such as media coverage, social media engagement, and website traffic.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior management on communications-related matters, including crisis communications and issues management.
  • Manage agency relationships and budgets to ensure effective and efficient delivery of communications services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications, and apply this knowledge to inform and improve our communications strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, with a focus on strategic, external and internal communications and media relations.
  • Significant experience working in the healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries, or in other highly regulated industries.
  • Proven expertise in developing, implementing and measuring communication strategies and programmes to support achieving business objectives.
  • Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with senior business leaders.
  • Very strong writing skills in Spanish, with good written and spoken English.
  • Critical thinking and can-do attitude to pinpoint opportunities, get consensus, and action.
  • Experience in digital communications with an outcome-oriented mindset, working across multiple channels in an integrated and strategic way.
  • Track record of successfully managing communication of complex (scientific) topics making them relevant and understandable for different audiences.
