Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Chip-Integrated Infrared Colloidal Quantum Dot Lasers
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Quantum Flagship. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing chip-integrated infrared lasers based on colloidal quantum dot technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, fabricate, and characterize quantum dot laser structures and integrate them on a chip for optical and/or electrical excitation.
- Develop the first chip-integrated infrared quantum dot laser emitting in the telecom wavelength regime and longer wavelengths (extended-SWIR) for applications related to remote sensing, spectroscopy, LIDAR, and communications.
- Test proof-of-concept devices in showcase examples to demonstrate potential for real-world applications.
- Collaborate with the Functional Optoelectronic Nanomaterials group to advance the development of quantum dot laser technology.
Requirements:
- Ph.D.-equivalent degree in electrical/electronic engineering, physics, or material science.
- Experience in the fabrication, characterization, and optimization of optoelectronic devices for photodetection based on solution-processed materials.
- Expertise in the physics of semiconductor lasers, design of optical/photonic laser cavities, and nanofabrication tools.
- Strong team-work skills, initiative-taking, and respect for deadlines.
