Postdoctoral Researcher in Chip-Integrated Infrared Lasers
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Quantum Flagship. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing chip-integrated infrared lasers based on colloidal quantum dot technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, fabricate, and characterize quantum dot laser structures and integrate them on a chip for optical and/or electrical excitation.
- Develop the first chip-integrated infrared quantum dot laser emitting in the telecom wavelength regime and longer wavelengths (extended-SWIR) for applications related to remote sensing, spectroscopy, LIDAR, and communications.
- Test proof-of-concept devices in showcase examples to demonstrate potential for real-world applications.
Requirements:
- Ph.D.-equivalent degree in electrical/electronic engineering, physics, or material science.
- Demonstrated experience and hands-on expertise on the fabrication, characterization, and optimization of optoelectronic devices for photodetection based on solution-processed materials.
- Expertise in the physics of semiconductor lasers, design of optical/photonic laser cavities using CAD simulation tools, and hands-on expertise on nanofabrication tools needed for photonic structure fabrication and thin film patterning and integration.
