In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through innovative medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
The Opportunity
As a Field Technical Specialist within our Electrophysiology (EP) team, you will be responsible for providing expert support and advice on the use of the Abbott EP portfolio within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical consultation, teaching, and support on the use of all EP products and their appropriate application during electrophysiological procedures in the hospital (catheter laboratory).
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of current and new therapies and technologies within the therapy area, including competitor devices, as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market.
- Resolve common customer problems and respond to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action.
- Provide technical support to the EP salesforce; proactively communicate information and discuss product placement and complex case support with sales team.
- Understand the business priorities of internal and external clients, awareness of sales targets and trends, marketing messaging, and describe desired or actual business results in measurable scales or terms.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in Sciences or Biomedical Engineering.
- Ideal experience in electrophysiology or cardiac rhythm management, or in an equivalent role within the industry.
- Familiarity with catheter lab and operating room procedures and protocol, and strong cardiac anatomy and physiology knowledge.
- Strong communication skills with active listening and questioning techniques.
- A willingness to travel 50% of the time and ability to work autonomously, adapting work schedule to procedures' duration and coping with irregular/uneven work days.
- Fluent in English (B2-C1 level).
