Overview

The position of the Technical Infrastructure Integration Manager (TIIM) demands exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities. We are in search of a Project Manager who is self-motivated and possesses extensive experience in Project Management and Construction Management. A background in Data Center or telecommunications projects is advantageous but not mandatory.

The TIIM is accountable for overseeing all project management activities related to the fit-out processes associated with Microsoft-owned systems and services, as well as the essential infrastructure that must be installed in a new data center facility. This role necessitates the identification and management of scopes and interdependencies among all external and internal stakeholders, ensuring coordination with physical construction efforts involving general contractors and other vendors.

The TIIM will manage the entire project lifecycle, which includes planning, budgeting, procurement, pre-construction activities, and coordinating the handover process. It is crucial to ensure that all necessary documentation and expectations are met to transition the space to our Operations teams and business units.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: PMI (Project Management Institute) – PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines concurrently.
  • Experience in managing large-scale enterprise projects with both localized and virtual teams.
  • Cross-group collaborator and influencer with a track record of success in participating in cross-functional teams to deliver key projects.
  • Must be able to work within a dynamic team of full-time employees and consultants.
  • High personal standards for delivering a thoughtful, polished, and quality work product.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, electrical engineering, construction management, or related fields.
  • Experience in IT fit-out or construction-related project management.

Preferred Qualifications: BICSI RCDD or similar Telecommunications Design/Installation Experience is a plus. Previous experience in Data Center construction or IT fit-out management is also advantageous. Knowledge of Construction Health & Safety is beneficial.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is essential for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to specialized security screenings.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the TIIM include, but are not limited to:

  • Advocating for a safe worksite and supporting the implementation of the Microsoft High Risk Activity (HRA) program.
  • Coordinating internal Microsoft scope and resource efforts, requirements, and schedules with those of general contractors, owned vendors, and suppliers.
  • Collaborating with the Data Center Engineering (DCE) team and specialty consultants to review and enhance design execution.
  • Overseeing the procurement and installation of telecom materials, security systems, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
  • Aligning metro-wide delivery strategies with local team objectives and vendor management strategies.
  • Identifying and managing stakeholder dependencies and construction deliverables.
  • Reporting to the Regional TIIM team leader and ensuring the delivery of Integration and Technical Infrastructure scope for the designated region.

Business Processes:

  • Creating and maintaining best practices to identify cost-effective solutions in line with evolving program specifications.
  • Managing the selection, contracting, and integration of multiple vendors and internal partners.
  • Driving the deployment of solutions that can be utilized globally across various projects.
  • Facilitating decision-making processes to drive solutions and manage changes as necessary.
  • Applying influence and negotiation skills to identify options and recommend solutions.

Communication:

  • Regularly reviewing cost and KPI metrics, invoices, and process communications with client partners.
  • Coordinating meetings and activities of vendors and integrating lessons learned in support of the Construction PM.
  • Reporting project progress on scope, schedule, and budget as required.
  • Providing weekly project status updates in accordance with Data Center Execution standards.
  • Identifying and addressing barriers by collaborating with others around shared needs.

Accountability:

  • Developing, managing, and reporting on scope, schedule, and budget in relation to Integration and technical fit-out projects.
  • Working independently to support Data Center Development Projects.
  • Tracking lessons learned and executing cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Providing oversight and performance management of vendors as needed.
  • Supporting the preparation of project approval tools and templates.
  • Reviewing vendor scope of work and design plans as required.
  • Validating vendor pay applications and invoices in line with milestone payment schedules.
