Amazon is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to support our European Data Center infrastructure growth initiatives. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to drive the implementation and deployment of data center expansion projects to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business.
The Technical Program Manager will guide teams of internal and external stakeholders through all stages of the Data Center development lifecycle from initial site due diligence through Construction and into Operation. They will develop delivery programs, work closely with stakeholder teams to identify risks and resolve issues, and ensure those programs are delivered on time and within budget.
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will partner with various stakeholder teams during data center delivery, including Real Estate, Energy, Design Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management, and Operations. They will be responsible for end-to-end program delivery from pre-contract design up to final handover to Operations of Colo, Hybrid Colo & AWS Leased/Owned Data Centers in the EMEA region.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience leading multi-discipline, highly technical physical infrastructure project teams. They will be able to break down large, complex projects into manageable pieces, clearly communicate goals and roles to internal and remote teams, and manage interface between internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of Data Center projects.
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will also be responsible for building and maintaining overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior leadership to secure finance for project delivery. They will work with Capacity Planning, Energy, and Real Estate teams to develop short & long-term build strategies to meet forecast demand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces.
- Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.
- Manage interface between internal (Real Estate, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Infrastructure Deployment, Networking, Operations, Security, Fiber, Finance, etc.) and external stakeholders (Contractors, Colo Vendors) to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of Data Center projects.
- Build and maintain overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior leadership to secure finance for project delivery.
- Work with Capacity Planning, Energy, and Real Estate teams to develop short & long-term build strategies to meet forecast demand.
