About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Researcher for Fuel Cell Development to join our team at EURECAT. As a key member of our Functional Printing & Embedded Devices Unit, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions based on functional materials and devices.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary team projects in the field of fuel cell and electrolyzer development for sustainable energy technologies. Your tasks will include:

  • Analysis of State-of-the-Art: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in fuel cell and electrolyzer technology.
  • Material Processing: Develop and process materials for membranes and catalysts.
  • Physicochemical Characterization: Conduct electrical, optical, and morphological characterization techniques to analyze materials and surfaces.
  • Assembly and Simulation: Assemble and simulate electrochemical cells and fuel cells.
  • Gas Control Systems: Design, program, and assemble gas control systems.
  • Result Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and present results, and prepare technical reports.

You will be part of a dynamic and multicultural work environment, with a vision of generating value for clients and using agile and innovative project management methodologies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (BSc), Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or similar disciplines.
  • Essential experience of at least one subject in electrochemistry or similar.
  • Previous knowledge of hydrogen production and conversion systems as sustainable energy will be valued.
  • Highly valuable any experience in:
    • The development and characterization of fuel cells and electrolyzers and associated materials.
    • Power electronic systems.
