Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Section to lead our Spanish Translation team at Reconocida Empresa. As a key member of our Languages and Publications department, you will be responsible for overseeing the translation of critical documents from English to Spanish, ensuring high-quality output and meeting tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translation and Revision: Lead a team of translators in producing accurate and complete translations of sensitive and complex texts, using standard computer-assisted-translation (CAT) tools and maintaining terminological consistency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of all texts and documentation provided to the Secretary General and/or President of the Council, exercising independent judgment and discretion in researching and selecting the right terminology.
  • Team Management: Supervise and manage the work and staff of the Section, achieving results such as meeting deadlines, maintaining a high degree of quality, and ensuring terminological consistency and cross-cultural equivalence.
  • Terminology Development: Pro-actively provide input to the development of translation databases and alert the Terminology Officer of any new terminology or gaps in terminology databases.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled and experienced translator with expertise in Spanish and English languages.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing translation projects.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
