Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Director to join our team at the United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and modernization of our surface ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight for the maintenance, repair, and modernization of surface ships
  • Review and approve evaluations for complex problem areas that occur in ship repair
  • Coordinate routine and emergent maintenance requirements to ensure ship readiness
  • Oversee financial and administrative management of various aspects of hull, mechanical, and electrical systems on surface ships
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in engineering and a minimum of one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specifically, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Providing technical oversight for the maintenance, repair, and modernization of ships
  • Reviewing and approving evaluations for complex problem areas that occur in ship repair
  • Coordinating routine and emergent maintenance requirements to ensure ship readiness
  • Overseeing financial and administrative management of various aspects of hull, mechanical, and electrical systems on surface ships
Education

You will need to have a professional engineering degree from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Additionally, you may be eligible if you have a current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
