Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our Loss Prevention organization, which provides day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the implementation of the Safety Management System and develop associated safety processes.
- Inspect onshore and offshore drilling rigs, workover equipment, and other support facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend actions to mitigate critical safety risks related to operational safety practices.
- Participate in safety studies and activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies.
- Develop and/or review corporate safety standards, instructions, and procedures related to upstream operations.
- Assist in the development of Emergency Response Plans and attend emergency drills.
- Respond to emergency situations and incidents, providing technical assistance and advice.
- Support the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents.
- Deliver Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties.
- Mentor other Loss Prevention personnel.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- 7 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas upstream industry, with a strong track record of delivering results.
- Experience in various areas including drilling and workover operations, well planning and approval, reservoir management, geology and geophysics, project management for upstream facilities development, and offshore and onshore drilling rig safety inspections.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
