About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Corbion. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of production process improvements in our fermentation and downstream/purification processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process ownership, including evaluation of process data, operator training, and documentation of protocols and instructions.
  • Troubleshooting of potential problems that could arise in the production process.
  • Evaluation of different options to improve process efficiency, safety, sustainability, and capacity.
  • Presentation of project ideas to stakeholders and obtaining approval for implementation.
  • Participation in expansion or maintenance projects as a process owner.
  • Collaboration with the Plant Technology team to evaluate, screen, and design optimization ideas.
  • Leadership of project implementation under your responsibility.
  • Collaboration with the Plant Technology team in the implementation of optimization ideas.
  • Support to the Plant Technology team in trials and start-ups.
  • Backup of plant technologists when needed.
  • Participation or leadership of multidisciplinary continuous improvement teams.

Requirements

  • More than 3 years of experience in process/project engineering or manufacturing in a chemical, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Combined education and/or experience in fermentation processes and chemical engineering is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Hands-on and proactive attitude.
  • Experience in installation, erection, or revamping of installations.
  • Ability to follow up on projects at the field and its start-up.
  • Ability to establish relationships with suppliers of machinery and installation companies.
  • Proactive, dynamic, and autonomous behavior.
  • Good command of English (Minimum B2 level).
  • Basic PRL certificate (50 h).
  • User level of gPROMS modelling tool is a plus.
