About the RoleThe Procurement Engineer will be responsible for driving and developing all activities related to the procurement of components for our battery and electrification technologies, with a focus on electrical/electronic components (PCBA, HV Electrical distribution).
Key Responsibilities- Develop supplier sourcing strategies, conduct market research, investigate and nominate suppliers.
- Perform detailed cost analysis, negotiate commercial terms, and prepare proposals.
- Manage cradle-to-grave supplier relationships, including commercial and contractual support to project teams/engineers.
- Provide project, budget, cost progress, and reporting to stakeholders.
- Develop business plans for procurement objectives and activities.
- Improve and streamline procurement processes.
- Place contracts and orders, including authorizing payments to suppliers.
- Create and manage the RFI/RFP/RFQ process.
- Prepare and deploy contracts.
- Verify supplier gateway readiness, confirm, and report.
- Participate in cross-functional cost reduction activities.
- Support the creation and management of supplier risk and reporting.
- Manage life cycle costs for a range of commodities.
- Resolve supplier concerns.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Well-rounded technical knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in the production of electrical/electronic components (PCBA, HV Electrical distribution).
- Previous experience in battery technology with a wide range of commercial and commodity groups of both low and high value (direct and indirect).
- Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Experience in establishing or streamlining procurement processes and procedures.
- Experience in operating MRP/ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of procurement procedures.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Proven commercial success and strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders up to executive level.
- Great communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships of trust and credibility with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Execution: ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
