About the Role

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with over 400 scientists from 44 countries. We are seeking a skilled Operations Developer to join our team and contribute to the project National IMPaCT-Data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve operational processes daily
  • Implement effective solutions to ensure seamless functioning of EGA services and databases
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and streamlining of operational processes
Requirements
  • Expertise in advanced PostgreSQL, including PL/pgSQL and replication
  • Advanced Python skills
  • Knowledge of AWS, specifically for S3, EC2, SES
  • Familiarity with messaging software, specifically RabbitMQ
  • Knowledge of Jenkins for automating software development processes
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines
  • Advanced Linux systems administration
  • Knowledge of Docker and related tooling
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Big Data database technologies
Education and Training
  • Hold a Degree in Computational Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position

Desirable but Not Required
  • C programming language experience
