About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Projects Manager to join our Infrastructure Energy Team in EMEA. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive power growth strategy for AWS's EMEA data centers.

With a proven track record in the power/energy sector, you will own the origination and contracting of power capacity in partnership with regional experts. This will involve analyzing, developing, and implementing strategies to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable power access across the EMEA footprint.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive power growth strategy for AWS's EMEA data centers.
  2. Prospect for, originate, and contract the power capacity needed to support the delivery of data centers.
  3. Identify risks in the delivery and operation of power grids and develop mitigations in collaboration with partner teams.
  4. Collaborate with electricity utilities and other external stakeholders to develop strategies that support AWS's expansion in EMEA.
  5. Work with AWS's Public Policy team to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.

The Infrastructure Energy team is a dynamic and growing team responsible for originating, contracting, and delivering reliable power connections to our DCs across EMEA. We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and contribute to our mission of finding reliable, scalable, and sustainable power for AWS.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering or other relevant technical field or equivalent professional or technical qualification.
  2. 7-10+ years delivery track record in the electric utility/energy industry in an engineering, project, or technical role.
  3. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with key clients and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master's Degree in relevant discipline (MBA/MS).
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  3. Experience designing, developing, and delivering HV/MV electric infrastructure.
  4. Experience of IT infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services.
