About the Role:

As a Design to Value Transformation Specialist at Hitachi Energy, you will have a unique opportunity to drive product margin enhancements and lead the development of innovative solutions within the Distribution, Dry, and Traction transformers portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead reverse engineering and benchmarking activities to identify areas for improvement and optimize product design.
  • Manage and improve processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate activities with designated locations to ensure seamless implementation of Design to Value principles.
  • Develop and provide training on Design for Manufacturability (DFA) and Design for Assembly (DFM) concepts to cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct complex analysis to provide suggestions for improvements in operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Organize and facilitate cross-functional workshops to drive idea generation and implementation.
  • Perform product and process cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret product cost and technical data to inform decision-making.
  • Utilize idea management tools to drive innovation and improvement within the Design to Value methodology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, product design, or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong coaching skills to provide training and development for the organization.
  • Working knowledge of new product introduction, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability and assembly principles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to product and process improvement.
  • Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization.
