Position: Value Improvement SpecialistWe are seeking a Value Improvement Specialist to provide support to project leaders, engineering, and construction teams in identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives. The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with project leaders to identify opportunities for cost reduction and schedule optimization.
- Benchmark design against industry norms and client standards to provide alternative designs that meet customer requirements without exceeding them.
- Facilitate value workshops to identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
- Develop multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for capital projects.
- Break down silos and improve communication among team members to foster a collaborative environment.
- Provide recommendations for corporate specifications and standards to enhance future project execution.
- Translate project scope and proposed alternatives into estimated capital expenditure costs for design, procurement, and construction.
- Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
- Collect and analyze actual and alternative cost performance data to develop metrics and benchmarking information.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments by reviewing technical literature, attending professional meetings, and engaging with contractors.
- Utilize in-house procedures and the Value Improvement database to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
- Degree in an engineering discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience in petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or power generation projects, with at least 5 years as a senior specialist or project engineer.
- Advanced industry expertise and a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
- Familiarity with construction practices, materials, and equipment.
