About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Rooms to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments in an effective and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management
    • Support the Hotel Manager in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
    • Coordinate the organization and administrative functions in all areas of the Rooms Division.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure seamless communication between departments to provide complete guest and team member satisfaction.
    • Monitor and evaluate performance of each Rooms Division department.
    • Implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain high standards.
  • Training and Development
    • Facilitate training and development for Rooms Division team members to meet SLS and Ennismore standards.
    • Monitor and review guest comments and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Attend and participate in hotel and departmental meetings.
    • Conduct interviews for Rooms Division department positions.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Committee to determine strategy, training, and tools needed to ensure exceptional guest service.
  • Guest Service
    • Respond directly to guests as necessary.
    • Monitor and review guest comments and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Revenue and Occupancy
    • Monitor daily availability and occupancy with the Hotel Manager.
    • Communicate with Revenue to resolve any challenges.
  • Fire Safety and Loss Prevention
    • Participate in Fire Safety and Loss Prevention programs.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in the hotel industry, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Fluent in Spanish and English.
    • Able to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of attention to detail.
    • Proficient understanding of computer systems such as Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
