Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising all processes, procedures, outputs, and deliverables for a group of departments, ensuring that the outputs and interactions of animation are aligned with production.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, and their departments' crew.
- Collaborate with the Associate Production Manager and Production Manager to maintain the master schedule for production.
- Partner with supervisors to set up and run departments.
- Work with the CG Supervisor to coordinate technical challenges involved with deadlines of departments.
- Work with Production Management to meet overall production scheduling and budget requirements.
- Ensure the budget and scheduling are updated as changes are made to the film's production flow and/or staffing profile.
- Look ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, department milestones, and inventory expectations are met.
- Strategize with Department Head, production management, and possibly other Production Supervisors to resolve any productivity and/or inventory issues.
- Create and maintain reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist productivity.
- Collaborate with Department Head to cast assignments and issue deadlines to artists.
- Perform walk-arounds to check in with the crew.
- Attend Director approvals and help drive this meeting.
- Check in with department head and production team on a regular basis to discuss challenges, acknowledge successes, and discuss morale issues.
- Manage inventory flow in/out of departments.
- Set expectations at meetings and Director Approvals and identify which notes should be addressed at a later time.
- Regularly assess where the departments are at and come up with strategies to catch-up or maintain productivity.
- Work with Coordinators and PAs to prioritize their daily workloads and have regular weekly meetings with them.
- Mentor and develop Production Coordinators and PAs.
- Manage crew's schedule and approve vacations.
- Provide guidance and support to department heads in conjunction with the Production Manager and Head of Production.
- Lead the team, providing them with support, guidance, and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth.
- Ensure all assets follow quality standards and artistic direction and meet deadlines.
- Stay up-to-date on current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit the production and the company.
- 6+ years of experience in VFX or animation industries.
- 3+ years of experience in feature production departments or extensive experience on 2 shows.
- Experience working cross-site with remote crews on 2+ films is preferred.
- Software requirements: ShotGun, Microsoft Excel and Word, Outlook/Gmail, and knowledge of production tracking databases.
- Excellent working knowledge of film production pipeline and methodologies.
- Advanced English level.
- Spanish oral and written is desirable.
