Job Summary
Skydance Media is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the supervision of all processes, procedures, outputs, and deliverables for a group of departments, ensuring that the outputs and interactions of animation are aligned with production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, and department crew to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Collaborate with the Associate Production Manager and Production Manager to maintain the master schedule for production, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Partner with supervisors to set up and run departments, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication.
- Work with the CG Supervisor to coordinate technical challenges and deadlines, ensuring that departments meet their targets.
- Work with Production Management to meet overall production scheduling and budget requirements, ensuring that the budget and scheduling are updated as changes are made to the film's production flow and/or staffing profile.
- Understand how changes may affect the budget, scheduling, and overtime, and communicate the impact of changes to the Production Manager.
- Look ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, department milestones, and inventory expectations are met, and strategize with Department Head, production management, and other Production Supervisors to resolve any productivity and/or inventory issues.
- Create and maintain reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist productivity, and collaborate with Department Head to cast assignments and issue deadlines to artists.
- Perform walk-arounds to check in with the crew, attend Director approvals, and help drive this meeting.
- Check in with department head and production team on a regular basis to discuss challenges, acknowledge successes, and discuss morale issues.
- Manage inventory flow in/out of departments, set expectations at meetings and Director Approvals, and identify which notes should be addressed at a later time.
- Regularly assess where the departments are at and come up with strategies to catch-up or maintain productivity, work with Coordinators and PA's to prioritize their daily workloads, and have regular weekly meetings with them.
- Mentor and develop Production Coordinators and PAs, and manage crew's schedule and approve vacations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple departments and prioritize tasks effectively. You will also need to have a strong understanding of production processes and procedures, as well as the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
