About the Role

Ferrovial is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Developer to join our team in IBERIA. As a key member of our Renewable Energy Development team, you will be responsible for managing the origination and development of renewable energy projects, including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, and BESS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify optimal locations for developing and building renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with business targets.
  • Negotiate and secure land rights, maintaining strong relationships with landowners.
  • Lead the permitting process, ensuring timely and budget-friendly acquisition of project permits, licenses, and authorizations.
  • Secure grid access and interconnection rights, prioritizing designs that minimize environmental and social impact, while meeting technical requirements.
  • Develop solutions to ensure project feasibility from an investment and financing perspective, including energy sales models and other attributes.
  • Establish commercial and strategic relationships with potential clients, partners, or collaborators in each market.
  • Contract and manage development services providers, technical advisors, and consultants to support development activities.
  • Maintain relationships with local, regional, and national administrations, DNO/TSO, and other entities/agencies for expedited permit processing.
  • Collaborate with construction and business areas, serving as the primary point of expertise for renewable energy development.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree related to electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record and experience in a similar role for more than 3 years.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience working directly for renewable energy developers and familiarity with project permitting.
  • Candidates with experience in renewable energy project design and construction will be appreciated.
  • Good understanding of grid access permitting and grid connection agreements.
  • Experience in projects in America, Europe, and Australia will be valued.
  • Ability to travel as needed for projects and opportunities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, strategic vision, and commercial acumen.
  • Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and able to prioritize tasks, with a capacity for anticipation and problem-solving.
  • English intermediate level (B2) is required.
