Job DescriptionAs a Renewable Energy Developer at Ferrovial Energy, you will be responsible for managing the origination and development of renewable energy projects, including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, and energy storage. You will work closely with our team to identify optimal locations for project development, negotiate land rights, and lead the permitting process to ensure timely and budget-friendly project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify potential project locations and opportunities.
- Negotiate and secure land rights and permits, maintaining strong relationships with landowners and local authorities.
- Lead the permitting process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and obtaining necessary licenses and authorizations.
- Develop and implement strategies to secure grid access and interconnection rights, minimizing environmental and social impact.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project feasibility, including investment and financing models.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and collaborators to drive project development and commercial success.
- Manage development services providers, technical advisors, and consultants to support project activities.
- Interact with local, regional, and national administrations, as well as other entities and agencies, to expedite permit processing and project execution.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in electrical power systems or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience working directly for renewable energy developers is preferred, with familiarity with project permitting and grid access.
- Candidates with experience in project design and construction, as well as grid connection agreements, will be highly valued.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, and commercial acumen are essential.
- Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and able to prioritize, with a strong problem-solving capacity.
- English language proficiency at an intermediate level (B2) is required.
