Job Summary

Ferrovial is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Developer to join our team. As a key member of our renewable energy development team, you will be responsible for managing the origination and development of renewable energy projects, including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify optimal locations for renewable energy project development, taking into account technical, financial, and environmental factors.
  • Negotiate and secure land rights, ensuring good relationships with landowners and stakeholders.
  • Lead the permitting process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of project permits, licenses, and authorizations.
  • Obtain grid access and interconnection rights, minimizing environmental and social impact while meeting technical requirements.
  • Develop and implement solutions to ensure project feasibility from an investment and financing perspective, including energy sales models and other attributes.
  • Establish commercial and strategic relationships with potential clients, partners, and collaborators in each market.
  • Contract and manage development services providers, technical advisors, and consultants to support development activities.
  • Maintain relationships with local, regional, and national administrations, DNO/TSO, and other entities/agencies to expedite permit processing.
  • Interact and support construction and business areas, serving as the primary point of contact for renewable energy development expertise.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record and experience in a similar role for more than 3 years.
  • Candidates with experience working directly for renewable energy developers are preferred, with familiarity with project permitting.
  • Candidates with experience in renewable energy project design and construction will be appreciated.
  • Good understanding of grid access permitting and grid connection agreements.
  • Experience in projects in America, Europe, and Australia will be valued.
  • Ability to travel as needed for project opportunities.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, and commercial acumen.
  • Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and able to prioritize tasks, with anticipation capacity and problem-solving skills.
  • English intermediate level (B2) is required.
